Supply Chain workers are required to oversee all relevant steps regarding to the process of supply chain. They take care of products from the raw material stage to the sale as an end product to the clients. Some specialists working on this field are Supply Chain Managers and they are responsible for organizing and managing the activities involved in the acquisition, identification, and distribution of products through all the supply chain system.

Supply Chain workers usually perform many of the following tasks:

Those who want to have better job opportunities and work at higher level positions can obtain a Master of Business Administration in Business with Supply Chain specialization. That program includes supply chain coursework such as operations research, logistics management, sourcing, and marketing. Certifications are not compulsory but they enhance professionals´ credentials. Among these qualifications are the Certification in Production and Inventory Management, and the Certified Purchasing Manager certification.
