Flight Attendants are responsible for the security and safety of the traveling public at aircrafts. They are required to make flights enjoyable and comfortable for passengers. These professionals provide instructions related to emergency evacuation procedures and details about flight times. They attend passenger by serving meals, beverages and other products. Flight Attendant applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent qualifications as minimum requirement. They also need to be certified by the FAA. Most airlines prefer candidates having a college degree related to this business and relevant work experience on customer service. An advantage for candidates applying for these jobs is to have a flight attendant training offered by some colleges and schools. Some suitable courses for this industry are psychology, nursing, communications, hospitality, travel and tourism, and education. Professionals of this area must speak one or more foreign languages fluently.
Certification offered by the FAA requires that candidates complete training requirements related to fire fighting, medical emergency, evacuation, and security procedures and approve a proficiency test.
