Chauffeurs are responsible for taking passengers to and from their homes, recreational pursuits, and workplaces using a vehicle. They offer point-to-point services and in some cases also sight-seeing trips around cities for their clients. These drivers may operate private cars, limousines, vans, among other vehicles and work for business firms, government agencies, private households, and limousine companies. They are also required to help their passengers to get in and out of the car, run errands, and carry luggage.

Chauffeurs usually perform many of the following tasks:

Candidates for Chauffeur jobs are required to have a High School Diploma as a minimum education qualification. Applicants also need to have basic math skills and being able to read maps and communicate effectively. A good recommendation for those who want to work on this sector is also having a basic understanding of auto mechanics. Several companies offer on-the-job training programs for new employees. These schemes are required by law in some jurisdictions and last one or two weeks. Those who want to work as limousine or taxicab drivers are just required to have a regular automobile driver´s license, while drivers who need to transport more than sixteen passengers need to have a Commercial Driver´s License.
