Police Officers are responsible for enforcing prevailing laws, preventing crime and looking out for the safety and health of a community. They patrol streets on foot or using squad cars. These officers also control traffic or work as detectives to investigate crimes. At police stations they may work at the records department or in the crime laboratory. In cases of trials and hearings, they create reports about incidents in order to testify.

Students who want to work on this sector are encouraged to take physical education courses and participate in organized sports to have better health and physical conditions. Applicants for police departments must be over twenty years old, meet some requirements related to weight, height, hearing and eyesight, and pass written examinations and a background check.
