Nannies are responsible for providing nurturing care to one or more children. They are employed by parents either on a live-out or a live-in basis. These care takers have full time work for about eight or ten hours. Their duties are related to cleaning and cooking tasks, such as preparing child´s meals. They also teach table manners and help children with their homework.

Nannies usually perform many of the following tasks:
• Washing children´s clothes.
• Preparing bottles for babies.
• Planning meals.
• Running errands.
• Reading to and with the children.

Education

There is no set of specific academic requirements to be a Nanny. Some parents do not seek formal training or extensive experience, but a good recommendation for this area is that candidates have work experience as babysitters or had worked for a daycare center. Other useful points for this area is having a high school graduate, experience or training in CPR and first aid programs, and a driving license in order to maximize job opportunities.
