Waiters are responsible for offering catering services at restaurants. They must greet people once they are seated at a table and then take orders of guests, informing them about specials. These workers need to handle information about how the kitchen staff prepares meals in cases where clients ask questions regarding to preparation methods and ingredients.
Waiters usually perform many of the following tasks:

• Explaining chef´s recommendations.

• Offering seats to guests.

There are no specific qualifications to be a restaurant Waiter. These places hire applicants and offer them on-the-job training in order to provide necessary skills to candidates. Most employers demand significant work experience in the same area in less formal restaurants. Another requirement for people who want to work in this business is to be fluent in the language spoken by their customers in order to understand their needs. There are some chain restaurants that offer formal training schemes that applicants must complete to become a waiter. These programs usually require that candidates follow instructions of experienced waiters and read an employee manual.
