Plano is a city in the state of Texas, located mostly within Collin County. The city's population was 222,030 at the 2000 census, making it the ninth-largest city in Texas. According to a 2009 census estimate, Plano grew to 273,611 residents, making it the 69th most populous city in the United States. Plano is within the Dallas–Fort Worth–Arlington metropolitan area. The city is home to many corporate headquarters, including Ericsson Inc., Rent-A-Center, Crossmark, Dell Services, Pizza Hut, Alliance Data Systems, HP Enterprise Services, JCPenney, Frito-Lay, Cinemark Theatres, Dr Pepper Snapple Group and Siemens PLM Software.In 2005, Plano was designated the best place to live in the Western United States by CNN Money magazine.
