  • Looking for a remote position medical billing /coding Jenn

I have been looking for a remote position for 2 years now, I have two kids and I’d love to work from home since I can’t afford daycare. I work in a specialists office but for some reason the trust is no there to allow us to work from home. I feel it shouldn’t be so difficult to find a remote position but now.. I don’t know what to expect anymore. I would really appreciate some input in what has worked for others, please let me know. Thank you.

    • Anna:

Hi there, this won’t be pleasant to hear but I’m on the same boat. I feel now everyone is looking for a specialized professional. Don’t get me wrong I thought about it because it would up my chances but at the same time I find myself thinking : what should I specialize in? So if anyone has ever had these thoughts please let me know. Any advice, expertise, input will be greatly appreciated.

    • James R.s.m:

First of all, keep looking , there is always someone looking for a profile like yours. Second of all: it is not fun. I’ve been working on this field for about 20 years and I’ve always wanted to work from home. I guess we all had different reasons and maybe different perspectives but I never imagined I would hate something I have been craving for years. Once I was working home I was bored, tired and demotivated. It all was because I missed human interaction, with doctors, patients… I got tired of being home all day by my own. Now I found a balance and do part time home and part time in the office. If you have that chance please consider it. Working from home sound like a dream come true but it takes a lot of discipline especially when you have distractions at home like family.
