Retail Sales area is composed by different activities depending on the product or service offered by a company or employer. Some persons working on this field are Retail Sales Persons or Retail Sales Associates and they are required to sell retail services and products to the clients. They provide answers to customer’s inquiries, handle payments, sell goods, and make sure that the products are properly displayed.

Retail Sales workers usually perform many of the following tasks:
• Informing customers about new products.
• Greeting clients.

• Maintaining the store clean.
• Explaining features of the products.

There are several colleges and high schools that offer two-year programs that include courses in retail selling, merchandising, and principles of retailing for people who want to work in this industry. Other suitable background experiences for this area are business administration, sales environments, and customer service.
