Managing a nursing unit is the responsibility of a Unit Manager. They oversee the care of people who might need hospice or long term care. Managers also handle administrative responsibilities. They disperse letters, enforce policies and mentor staff. Unit Managers receive very good salaries and benefits in their jobs.

Before they do this, they should work on getting their Bachelors or Masters Degree, or even an Associate or Diploma to get started. Other relevant areas of study include Health Services Administration, Care Administration or Public Health Administration.
