Graphic Designers are responsible for planning and creating visual solutions to communications problems. Their mission is to find the most effective way to get messages across electronic and print media using type, illustrations, colors, animation, photography, among other techniques. These professionals create production designs of journals, corporate reports, magazines, newspapers, etc. They may work for design, publishing, or advertising companies.

Graphic Designers usually perform many of the following tasks:

Other useful courses for this area are related to psychology, foreign languages, art history, cultural studies, business, marketing, sociology, and writing. There are more than 300 postsecondary institutions accredited by The National Association of Schools of Art and Design for those who want to take a course to work in this business.
