Court Clerk

A court clerk looks after the day to day running of the court, taking care of legal documentation, preparing case folders and making sure that procedures run smoothly and in adherence with the law. The incumbent is in charge of making sure that everyone involved in a case is where they should be at the correct time, is in charge of administering the oath to witnesses and keeps precise records of the proceedings
Essential to the role is a high level of attention to detail, good communication skills and discretion. This individual is responsible for collecting and passing information between the various parties present in the court and is also the one to organise and collect any fines and fees
Other skills required include impartiality and a clear speaking voice. Applicants with qualifications in sociology or related to the field of criminal justice are preferred.
